Hey,
I just purchased a radiator support and I'm pretty sure it's the wrong one. The add said it was a C7TZ16138B part number for a 67-72 ford truck which I believe is what I need. I'm thinking the radiator support is from a 73-79 ford truck as the radiator mounting is different on each one.
Where is the part number stamped on the radiator support? I'm going to keep looking but I can't find it.
I can post pictures of the difference in radiator mounting if anyone is curious.
Thanks,
-Destin

Re: Radiator support part number??
A C7 part number is not going to be for a 73-79. There are 2 different 67-72 radiator supports, one for 4x4's and 2wd's with the super cooling option and the other for 2wd's with the standard radiator. The super cool and 4x4 supports mount the radiator on "wings" spot welded to the standard radiator support.
Actually, now that I think about it I think there's a third radiator support used in some plain jane 2wd's with the 240 six that used a tiny little radiator, the radiator opening is narrower than the others.

Re: Radiator support part number??
The add clearly stated it was a 2wd but would work for 4wd. It said it came out of a truck with a v8. The openings are the same. The old one that came out of my truck has the wings. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to drill out the welds and tach it on to the new radiator.
edit: the opening on both radiators is 27 1/2" x 17 1/2".

Re: Radiator support part number??
It might help if you posted what year and model truck you have as what Dustin said above they are different. Your description above is of a "super cooling" radiator support for a F-350 or 4 X 4, (not a 2WD).The old one that came out of my truck has the wings.

Re: Radiator support part number??
are these wings or standouts for the radiator? the wings at the bottom of the core support arent anything to worry about. if they are standouts they you need them for you radiator to line up correctly to the fan. so it will cool correctly. my 4wd had standouts on it. when i replaced the core support i took the standouts off of the old support and botled them to the new support.

It's a 72 f250 4wd. I was just wondering where the PN is stamped at. The rad support that came out of my truck has the wings on it and the rad support I received in the mail has the standouts on the bottom.

Re: Radiator support part number??
You would probably need the super cooling support like Dustin and Fordman have described then.
Here's a real good thread that has a few pictures that describes the support pretty well:

Re: Radiator support part number??
kieths second picture there shows the 4wd standouts that my 4wd had on it. i dont know if i kept pictues of them but i do have a copy for forum use only of kieths picture. if the core support had a number on it. it was probably ink stamped or stenciled onto the core support. but where i have no idea.
