pretty nice '68 steel grille

Post by dolinick »

I finally decided to stop by the bone yard on the way home from work this afternoon to look around and take a few photos. I spotted a lwb step side right away. Then I saw this blue truck. It looked pretty interesting so I took it's photo. After I walked up to it I started to notice that the grille wasn't damaged. Then I realized someone had put this '68 steel grille on their '71. I didn't have the proper tools to remove it. I had a 1/2 inch wrench and a small adjustable wrench. Two guys walked up looking for a steering box and asked me if I needed help to remove the grille. They proceeded to unbolt it with two 1/2 inch socket ratchets. It cost about $33.00 with tax. I think the '68 steel grille is my favourite of all '67-'72 grilles. :D

Saw a nice shiny dent free 69 grill on the Charlotte NC Craigslist the other day with the asking price of $650! Not a NOS but a survivor grill. I guess he has done some homework and thinks he'll get that for it. I need to look and see if it sold for that or if it is still listed

It should clean up real nice. It does have some small dents on the top in the middle and passenger side.

Very nice find.
