Sick

Post by Mancar1 »

Hardly ever get sick, but when I do it is a biggy. Got pneumonia, on heavy meds. and lost my voice. At least I managed to get to my putor. Glad I went to my Doctor this morning. Sucks being alone when you are sick. Vicki always babied me  Well I better get busy and kick this crud's butt.

That sucks. I'm never sick either but I got pneumonia when I inhaled some fungal spores. That's nothing to mess with, I had really high fever that sapped all of my strength. Good luck for a speedy recovery

Sorry to hear your sick John. :( And agreed about being sick and alone, it is not fun at all. Two weeks ago on Friday night I came as close as I ever have to dialing 911 on myself. Awoke with a migraine behind my eyes / queezy stomach / then throwing up / yet I had no fever?
Get well buddy!

I seem to get some kind of light crud every year. You know, the kind that is just annoying, but you can still do stuff. That full blown, laying around the house type I seem to avoid for the most part. When I do get it, I not only have the feeling sick to deal with, but also a weird guilt feeling for not doing something. When you're raised by a battle hardened Marine warhorse who yells at you for sleeping a minute past 5 am...That sort of thing kinda stays with you for life. So I get sick AND am all twitchy as if my Dad is going to show up and call me a lazy hippie. It's a real picnic.

Take of yourself...rest, fluids, sleep, good vittles and stay warm. Ah the lazy hippie routine...hadn't thought about that since Dad passed back in '06. I used to get the same speel from him, but he was a Korean-conflict flattop flier (carriers), not a jarhead (his term, not mine).

I am retired military. Up by 0500 every day sick or not, and I also try to work it off. Pushed it to far this time, and wham, down and out  Went to work today, should have stayed home. Had to give it up at the 1/2 day point. But hey I let people do community service there on Wed. and Thurs. Couldn't let them down. I hope in the next couple days the Clarithromycin starts kicking in.
Thank you all for the well wishes. John

The last thing that kicked my butt pretty good was a large kidney stone. It hurt. I've had worse pain, but it was up there on the list. I worked through most of it, but when I started losing everything I tried to eat or drink, it was time to go sit in the house and complain.

That is right Woods, I do not believe I have had any pain worse than a big ass kidney stone. They make a believer outta ya.

I fought some kind of crud for two weeks last month. Popped cold and sinus for week. Felt better for a couple of days and then it'd hit me again. After 2 weeks I finally got an antibiotic and in 3 days I felt like a champ and it didn't come back. Sometimes you just gotta give in and seek professional help. :x Get well soon!

The dr asked me how bad the pain was...I said, "let me put it this way, I have been shot with an AK-47 before, this is making me long for that feeling. As a matter of fact, that was delightful."
