Winter is upon us! It has been in the 80's here since September, but today the wind picked up from the north and now its blowing steady at 35-40 mph and it's down into the sixties Guess its time to get the jacket out for the winter!
We caught a few first flakes last weekend, then it got warm again all last week. Was beautiful yesterday, so I started repowering the boat with a new antique outboard...64 Evinrude Speedifour 60 hp V4. Figured out where to drill the mounting holes in the transom and started that job in the garage today...outside it's maybe 55, partly blue skies and north wind whipping at 40 mph or so...it'll be brown before the day is done. Hope to finish mounting the outboard tomorrow...need bolts and sealant, get the top cowl painted Friday and store it all away for winter by Sunday...if I remember to turn the clock back.

Just a tad warmer here in the valley, but that wind I'll have at least a half of a bed load of fruit to run to
the dump if it ever stops !
I used to enjoy the first snow but as time wore on I prefer to look at pictures or see it on tv

It's not the best pic, but there is snow on the ground across the alley. Good thing I got those bags of leaves into the truck yesterday.
No, that is 50, oh you meant the weather not your age Could not help myself. Even when sick I keep the sense of humor.
Hope the snow stays in the hills around here.
May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.

That's reality here in jan/feb Got our first here on thurs night, only a couple of inches though. What really hurt was rolling out fri morning to about 3 degrees F. Stars were so close you could almost knock 'em down with a stick; Orion standing sentinal in the ssw and just a tinge of frosty turquoise in the east. The old Merc had no problems with it though, started up and ran fine.

The roof of the garage was white this morning and had ice on the windshield of the bump. for snow.

32 degrees last night, it was really warm a week or two back. Really weird year. We only get snow every couple of years and it bring everything to a stand still because we aren't used to it. "Black" ice we understand. I am ready for the cold this year, my firewood is stacked and never got wet. I don't stack it too soon because the yellow jackets nest in it and wake up when they get warm in the house! If I wait to stack it and spray it they seem to stay away.
We got a mixture of snow flurries and rain Friday. Our high today is 40 I think and 22 tonight. Time to bring the dogs in at night.

We had 10-12" of wet heavy snow on October 29-30 that knocked out power at my place for 26hrs. I sure was thankful for my generator. Some didn't get their service back for 7 days!!! In October...in New Jersey?? I hope this isn't a sign of what's in store for the winter.
It was 60* yesterday and supposed to be 66* today. Mother nature is loosing her mind.
