Phil, Love of a car don't have anything to do with it. Haveing a clean rust and damage free body dose. If a 69 fastback has had any rust or replacement 1/2 quarterpanels or damage in the past i dont want it. Finding a 40+ year old 69 fastback body around here that don't for a fair price is like looking for the needle in the haystack. And if i found one ive got to strip everything off of it, have it soda blasted and pray its not going to need repairs to the body when its finished being soda blasted. Whats the cost for a mustang body like that near me ? Plus the time/money spent driveing to look at how many to find one.

For me to have a clean straight 69 fastback body not needing repair and is ready to put together is money well spent in my opinion, and i call that a good deal. Everybodys opinion is different but i think that has to do with the condition of the cars around them. The further you go north the worst the conditions are for cars/trucks.
I went to a car show this weekend and there was a 69 and a 70 Mach1 there. Both had for sale signs on them close to 40k and i looked all over them. Seen body repairs on both and thought about this topic and a dynacorn body. Its all about what someones looking for in the end.

I fail to see how thats a deal. The early mustangs are relatively common. For 15k around here you could have an extremely nice driver

I take it these are unabody? i always hoped the stangs had a full frame. but a guess a unibody works good too.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Unibody yes. Don't fear the unibody, it's a good thing ;)

You'll find a real nice driver convertible but not a fastback!

Well, what you say has merit - depending on what you want - if you want a "replica", dynacorn bodies may be for you. Kinda like a fiberglass shelby cobra in my opinion.
