Most everything I bought on CL had a pic attached and was usually someone who had a clue selling it so Ive had no problems there.
Selling is another story. Most have been decent except for a few. I cant tell you how many rednecks came to look at my Harley and had the nads to ask to sit on it and maybe take it for a spin. No Harley owner would ever allow that; its like offering up your wife for a night or something. No I didnt let them either so dont get any ideas. None of them could muster up the financing. One guy said the bank would only loan him $5800 so he had to back out. I already dropped the price to $6k. Whats another $200?
I had plenty of folks look at the Crown Vic. Came out late, took it for a test drive. Knew all about the police interceptors. None of them were really interested in it. I sold it to some 20yr old kid who probably wrapped it around a tree by now.

On that same note..I had a weird thing the other day. My Father (in his 70's) still rides. He spotted a bike up in my area that he wanted to buy for himself. So he asks me if I will call the guy and go have a look at it. So I do. It was a good sled, for a pretty good price. He started it and was letting it warm up as I am looking it over. He then says, "go ahead and take it for a ride". I looked at him like he had lobsters crawling out of his ears.
In all the bikes (Harleys) I have ever bought, I have never had someone so much as hint about me taking it for a ride. Since I had already decided that it was a good bike for Dad and was going to get it for him, figured why not, so I took it for a cruise and then loaded it up in my truck.
But was still taken back by the offer to ride it. His Wife looked pretty good too, now I feel I made a mistake about not asking about her.
Yeah, I never thought I would actually see one of those. It's like seeing a photo of sasquatch.
I wonder if he would be interested in trading for an extremely rare, bald 9.00-16 tire.
good thing i bought that c4 from a 72f100 w/bellhousing that i have no use for. for $100 w/starter,driveshaft,hood,steering col, grille insterst and mis peices. they must have got rare in the last 4years.
Oh goshdarnit. I've been watching around for a spare C4 for my 72. With them being so rare and all I'll prolly never find one that I can afford. Oh woe is me.

"You feel the noise inside" == Ive got a 01 focus and the engine dose feel like it's got solid motor mounts and will vibrate the hole car. Nothing like rideing with a vibrateing high pitch noise when ideling.
