NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship

Post by BobbyFord »

Woohoo!, Carl Edwards on the pole in that fast Ford Fusion :woohoo: . All he has to do is win the race...(I know, easier said than done).

The 14 qualified 14th, hopefully he'll finish in 14th, too.

I was there at Homestead a few years ago when a flat tire changed the points with just a few short laps to go. I was also fortunate enough to see quite a few years of championships decided there at the last minute.

The 14 simply needs to blow an engine / forget a lug nut / run out of fuel!
The #99 team and Jack Rousch deserve it more than any other driver there IMO.

Maybe the 99 and 14 will wreck each other on lap 5 and give the 29 a shot. :D

Pretty torn on the whole thing....or is it indifferent? Hard to beat either driver, both are great guys. Carl just seems a little too "corporatized" to me. I bet his underwear have a corporate advertisment on them. A great driver tho. Stewart's more my style, and IMO, the best in Nascar...... the day he spun Gordon was the day I called myself a Stewart fan. And, How many upstart teams could contend this quickly without the likes of Tony behind the wheel? I'm good eitherway it goes tho, just glad we don't have to hear about 6 time... 5 was about 3 too many in my book. In a perfect world Jr would win the race, Tony a close 2nd and Edwards 5th...kyle worked over and 200 laps down, points tied and the tie breaker going to Tony. On a side note, it sure is good to see the "3" a Champion again.

I hope Carl blows the doors off 14,29, 88, 48,24, on lap 1. :D :D
Wins by at least 100 laps, does a back flip and when interviewed
says they don't know Jack, but I do. :D :D

After watching the Nationwide race yesterday the Cup boy's should provide a great race

Best of luck to both Carl & Tony ! I like the fact that two very competitive drivers are this close
going into the final run :hd:

Boogty, Boogty, Boogty it's the Last Race of the Season Boy's :(

Even tho I'm reluctant to pass judgement on a situation presented with no back story, Smoke is in fact a bad boy... what's not to love? he's all that a driver should be. I have nothing bad to say or present about Carl Edwards aside from him being a perfect vanilla cookie cut right off of the officiallly sanctioned nascar driver assembly line. (show me some passion Carl....please!!) If Carl wins, I think Nascar has a great Champion. If Smoke wins I think Nascar has a great Champion. Stewart's just more my style is all. I've played my share of ball and competed in a sport or two. Had some BS call's and some calls I just thought were BS. A time or two I have even become as heated as Smoke did/does. I understand the passion and appreciate it as well. As with most of us, age has and is tempering wisdom. Find another driver that says Nascar would be better off without him, I'll swallow that hook, line and sinker, before the hook the media has laid out there.

Anyhow, Smoke's on a mission, if he wins it, it'll be hard to say he didn't earn it. IMO, today's race will near certainly go down in Nascars history.

Don't matter what is said Stewart earned the win. He really had to drive to the front. Just hate Edwards didn't win championship. :(
