It happens, usually during the holidays and as winter sets in. It's part emotional and part physical health from the shorter days.

Try to not let it overwhealm you, stay positive and lower your expectations of yourself and others for a couple weeks.

Hey Josh,

Hang in there. There are times when I get so tired of fixing things on the trucks that I sometimes think they are not worth it anymore. Then I think about how a new truck would mean a truck payment and having something I couldn't work on myself. It can be really frustrating to not get as far as you would like to. Consider taking a break from the truck and then come back to it when you are ready. We are here for you man.

you can always buy a truck that is complete or close to complete for far less then it cost to build it. the reason is, the journey is more fun then the destination.

I know where you're coming from, Josh. All day, at work, I sit in front of a computer, go to meetings, kill snakes, put out fires and clean up other people's mistakes. Dealing with production issues, customer issues, system issues, etc. I go home from work drained and feeling like I didn't accomplish a d*&%! thing. Then come home and help wifey with the house, more work stuff, house full of grandkids, family and neighbors over all the time. My household is CHAOS all the time. When it all gets to be overwhelming I crawl off into my basement workshop and do something "manly". I gotta use power saws, air nailers, paint sprayers, make a lot of noise, make a big mess and build something with my hands. Get nasty, drive splinters in my hands, bleed, tear crap up and start over again. There's something therapeutic and satisfying about it for me. My own personal brand of stress reduction.

keep yer chin up josh!
my best advice would be to take a little time away from it ,deal with some of the other things that are going on and it won't seem quite so overwhelming when you're ready to have at 'er again
i've been ready to scrap my old pelter a million times over the years, i spend some time away from it ( a few years last time)and then a little time sitting behind the wheel daydreaming about how great it would be to drive the sucker again and then i'm all charged up about "improving" the ol' pig again
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

Just got this in the mail today

Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers...

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else..

He asked once more if the jar was full...

The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed..

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car..

The sand is everything else---the small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children.

Spend time with your parents.

Visit with grandparents.

Take your spouse out to dinner.

Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter.

Set your priorities.

The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented.

The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

Good one MrMajestyk. Spot on.
We all have had those points where we all get overwhelmed with life. The smallest things can seem impossible because we are so beaten down. The way I look at it once one is done climbing one mountain there is another one behind it to climb. My list goes from my father with parkinsons watching a strong man slowly deteriorate before my eyes, my wife and I not being able to have children, my wife having stage IIIB cancer and knock wood 3 years cancer free now, myself having lyme disease and other health issues, and then this wonderful economy to cap it off. That is just the tip of the iceberg. Everyone's wheelbarrow it seems like has to many bricks in it as
of late. Because of this I have learned to enjoy the small things in life and to only worry about what I can control. Actually one of the most enjoyable things I love to do is taking the dogs out for a 4-5 mile walk every night. And the other thing I love to do is come on this and other web boards like this.
As for you build big deal it takes a little longer to do, but it will get done. On my 63 Chevy it took me 2 years to build the new motor from concept to completion, but in the end it was worth it.
