Just Couldn't do it

Post by thrush544 »

Well, I was going to sell my Bump and keep my (2) 64 2 door posts to build as drag cars.

I just couldn't part with my Bump! Put one 64 up for sale and my 22 yr old son still wants to buy the other ... sometime. Kind of the end of a dream, but really, I would rather have my Bump. (Remember too, I still have a 64 2 dr hrdtp.)

Actually, I hardly have the time and money to replace the headliner in the hardtop, much less redo a entire car then put out the $ to race right now. I'm tring to build a business and spend time with my family. Guess it's that middle age thing, don't want to give it up because then it's gone. But in reality I would much rather have my bump and some day buy a camp up in the woods. i think that would be money spent much wiser for a long time to come. Grandchild #3 was just born on tThanksgiving and # 4 is due in April. I'm thinking it's time to start creating great memories for my grandchildren .... in a old Ford truck! :D

My wife can't understand why I don't sell my old truck. I just can't do it either. I told her a while back after she was giving me the third degree about my old truck. I will sell my 71 F100, my 97 Maxima (daily driver) and my Factory Five Cobra, if I could buy a 2011 Mustang Boss 302. She told me no. I was glad.

I really th8ink this is how most of us older guys here feel about our trucks. I had to make this decision a few years back-so at the time gave the 71' Ranchero I'd owned for some 7-8 years to my Son. No way could I ever afford to complete both my truck and the Chero' financially. Plus just how in the heck does a man do without a truck anyway? :hmm:
But my overall plan will be that the bump gets willed down to my Son-when my here is done. He already knows the benefits of having an inspection exempt vehicle and how much easier they are to work on.
Good decision Ed.
