Jerky

Post by Mancar1 »

Ok, now things are looking good. Got the smoker going and the jerky on. One of my son-in-laws said I couldn't make jerky hot enough for him. Well I am making up a Christmas batch just for him. I call it, Come on ice-cream jerky. I soaked the beef in a sauce with habanero, jalapeno, cayan pepper and anything else that has a bite that I could think of. Soaked it for 2 days so it should fix him up. Yummy. I also am making some sissy jerky

Depending on the thickness, it only takes 2 to 3 hours. Good stuff. Yes the sissy stuff is enjoyable without the pain

I would sure like a hunk of that. If that's not hot enough for him, make the next batch with a ground up bhut jolokia pepper...it will be hot enough then.

Years ago I had a buddy that grew Scotch Bonnet peppers. Will never forget the "vial" of ground up Scotch Bonnet he gave me. One "pinch" the size of a pea was almost too much for a whole pot of chili! I'd forever play with my friends with tat stuff!
Here...lick your finger and taste this! :D :x
It was some bad stuff!

Jerky turned out real good. He will have some when he and my little girl are up over Christmas. The hot stuff is real good. My mouth burned and my eyes watered  I love hot food, don't know why. Kinda like self torture
I will try some of those hot peppers that have been suggested. I have grown Habanero peppers and when you pick them gloves should be worn. Or do not rub your eyes latter in the day. Ask me how I know that!! So I would definitly wear them when picking the Bhut Jol Okia that Woods has turned us on to.
It may be 0443, been up since 0245, but I think I will eat some jerky.

Yeah, I have never tried one. A friend of mine added one into a batch of salsa he was making in the blender/chopper. When he ground it up, it felt a bit like I had been pepper spayed just walking into the [censored]. I like hot stuff, but I don't want to eat a red fire place poker.

I hear ya. I like Hot, but I can't handle Habanero unless it is chopped up and mixed into the food. Even then it is very, very, darn hot.
