The 'curse' (?) strikes again!!

Post by FORDification »

Well, it's happened again! (insert heavy sigh here)

As most of you know, there's a running joke on these forums about the dreaded '67 curse...which states that anyone who buys a '67 will end up becoming a parent within a few months or so. Actually, I think it was me that started it, since I'd purchased my '67 and then over several years I bought a few '67 parts trucks, and every time I got one, I also discovered that my wife was pregnant. (And it happened FOUR TIMES!!!) Then others here started having the same thing happen to them, and the curse was born! Well, I actually thought I was out of danger of the curse, since I had no intentions of buying any more '67s ( my truck is currently in storage until I can find a place with a shop so I can work on it).

However, over the July 4th holidays I finally purchased my dentside truck, a '75 SuperCab Ranger XLT Camper Special. I'd been looking for one for over a year to use as a nice daily driver, one that was outfitted like I wanted and didn't need any major work. And I'm not exactly sure how the 'curse' fit into this one, since it's not a '67....so there must be some strange unknown variations that we aren't aware of.

So anyway, if you haven't figured it out by now...I'm going to be a dad again!!!

We actually found out almost two months ago, I just haven't said anything yet. Tentatively, the baby is due around the beginning of June. (What a way to start the summer, right?) We were actually discussing taking steps to ensure this wouldn't happen again, and were literally a couple weeks away from making it permanent...but I guess we didn't move fast enough. (Needless to say, sometime between now and then I'll be taking that step!)

*sheesh*...shoulda bought a CREWCAB!! (But then with my luck, we'd probably have TWINS!)

From the bottom of my heart, congratulations Keith.

In my life, in it's ups and downs, my children our what make it all wonderful and worth living even when they disappoint or break my heart as it makes me alive and better from it.

I've never felt love for anything else like I do for my children and I know you understand that as all parents do.

...you are truly blessed...

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?
