Tank selector valve
The one in my 70 F250 is leaking in the cab. I read you could use a universal one but didn't see any part numbers or brands. Has anyone used one and do you have a picture so I could see? Otherwise, I will probably get one from another truck. Thanks for any help.

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?

Check at a heavy-duty truck parts store, they may have one.
Most any heavy-duty truck dealership (Sterling, Navistar, Kenworth, etc.) should have it on the shelf.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak
That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

Re: Tank selector valve
Clamp the 3 hoses with Vice Grips, remove the lever and unscrew the top of the valve. There is an o-ring you can replace to get it to stop leaking from around the shaft. Probably a $0.50 fix.
For a new valve, do a search for boat or marine fuel tank valve. You will find a nearly identical type of valve that is on our trucks. I've seen them come in 1/4" and 3/8" fitting sizes. A local boat shop could probably fix you up with a new one.

Mine started to drool a bit. I just replaced the o-ring. Maybe you could get away with something like that too.

Re: Tank selector valve
Thanks guys. If it just an o-ring causing the leak, I will try messing with that first. I tried looking in all the catalogs and nobody sells an original replacement.
