Every Now And Than Something Goes Right
So I was suppose to have a welder come by today at 1 to look at my project and quote me a price. Well he never showed, and I am sure I was looking something like this. Well I got to talking to my neighbors who are in the middle of a house renovation, and mentioned that I hate it when people can't show up and that I needed some welding done. They called another neighbor who is now not only going to weld my truck for me, but is also a mechanic and went through my motor showing me how to check everything out. So now I think I have made a new friend to help me out, and he is going to teach me how to weld!

Re: Every Now And Than Something Goes Right
Good day Ford4x4Fun,
What an ideal outcome! I think there are both positive and negative aspects of every event, and that if you're looking out for the positive things, they have a tendency to become more prominent and important, until the negative things fade away and are forgotten. Way to go.
This also reminds me of the classic story, "Acres of Diamonds," in which an African farmer sells his farm to go search for diamonds. He spends his life searching but never finds any. Then the guy that bought his farm found, on that land, an incredible deposit of diamonds in the earth. It's supposedly a true story! And the moral's obviously that it pays to look right around in our immediate area for what we want before looking all over Africa.
EDIT: actually, I had an opportunity once to learn to weld from Tom Lucas, when he offered to drive all the way to my house to help me with my exhaust. But I wound up having the truck towed to him and missed out on my chance.

That great to hear. It always comes in handy to know how to weld.
Two things I can't do without is a welder and a grinder.

My main tools are a stick to poke it with and a hammer to hit it.michael69 wrote:That great to hear. It always comes in handy to know how to weld. Two things I can't do without is a welder and a grinder.

Great to have good neighbors. It helps to balance out the crappy ones.
Weld on.

My list has torches first then welder and grinder.michael69 wrote:That great to hear. It always comes in handy to know how to weld. Two things I can't do without is a welder and a grinder.

Cutting and welding are handy skills to have. After you learn the basics you'll wonder how you ever did without. I'm always up for learning new ways of doing things. Right now I'm learning air arc cutting.

I am looking forward to learning but now UPS is messing with me. My cab mounts have been in transit from Atlanta to Jacksonville for 3 days now...
