I'm thinking it's sitting on the helper springs because all the wood on the camper is full of water...

It has a most amazingly solid cab other than the lower back is cut out and theres a bunch of wood screws holding the top of the camper to it. Only a bit of surface rust right under the gas pedal. Cab mounts look like from a Cali truck. It has bucket seats from a Lincoln on what look like factory mounts, wonderful yellow shag carpet, a factory AM radio and an aftermarker underdash AC. It has 44k miles, air cleaner says 360, 4bbl swapped that turns over by hand. It's a 10k truck with power drum brakes and manual steering that's rolling on split rims and possibly the original tires. Pedal pads look like new as well. Camper is ruff, very ruff. The frame is extended about 6' off the rear too. Had two heavy duty fuel tanks right behind the cab on each side.

Super cooling rad support and inners are covered with surface rust but look better then the ones I have on my truck (no rust out at the hinges). Hood is rusted out from the inside out and the fenders look decent. Steel '68 grill is brush painted white and has some decent sized dents. The white on the paint is old wax of all things.

Paid $550 for it, PITA factor is going to be huge parting it out so I probably paid too much. I'll probably back hoe the camper shell, then soak the rest of it in oil to see if the front clip will come apart.

Hardest part will probably be draggin it to the farm.

So, it's an interesting critter. The MD title was made in 1987 with 19k miles, it has juice boxes in the fridge from '88. It has a bunch of Texas stickers on it including a small pipeline company sticker on the drivers door by the mirror and the welding sticker for the frame extension. I think it was used by a pipeline worker in a prior life but didn't start out as a camper.

Current plan is to get a firebarrel going next to it and feed the barrel with the junk out of the camper. It is insulated (sort of) and it all needs to go away. The aluminum is barely on the camper so I'll tear it off, burn the wood and insulation, scrap the metals. Going to keep the cab, core support and inner fenders. I also want to get it running before gutting the cab.

Gotta' unique evap coil and plenum in the cab. Haven't never seen one focus more air toward the driver like that one, like it. Nice score Jamie.

Spent the very cold windy day taking the camper apart and burning it peice by peice in a 55 gallon barrel. It was a miserable experience. I got half the AC unhooked and some other odds and ends in the cab. It looks like it's a stand along system, doesn't tie into the Ford heater duct at all which makes me wonder why they shoved everything on the drivers side. The fan motor is right above the gas pedal. wierd...

Too bad about the back wall of the cab. Otherwise I'd be making an offer on it. Interesting find. Nice to have a farm to store your junk at.
