Re: Favorite feature of your bump?
i mostly just think that bumps are cool all around, but for whatever reason the gauge cluster is the thing i like the best of all, especially with the fake wood trim like my original (ranger) cluster
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

As a short guy (5'8"), I like having the distributor at the front of the engine, as God intended.
I like the way my friends' little kids freak out when I pull up in it. You'd think this rusty old bump was Santa's sleigh.
I like the wind roar at 60mph from the almost upright windshield and west coast mirrors, it reminds me to ease off the throttle a bit and enjoy the ride.
But mostly, I like the conversations that it sometimes starts. This beat-up, old truck draws people that have an appreciation for these antiquated machines, and we usually have some great stories to share. Many old trucks (especially the heavy-duty ones) have a rich history behind them. This one has fed a family, built a house, gone camping, been to Alaska a couple times, and took my dad prospecting and working all over the southern States. To me, that's the value in the old beast; it's like a rolling piece of American history, or a reminder of the lifestyle of a different era.

Re: Favorite feature of your bump?
I like rolling to the stoplight, looking left and looking right and knowing that no one is going to pull up next to me in anything remotely as cool as my old truck. I hate being like everyone else in a little cookie cutter house, with the little cookie cutter hybrid, and a cookie cutter life. My old truck is just that, my old truck. Even on the rare chance that someone stops at the light with with an old bump it wont be identical to mine. That is my favorite feature. Oh and giving the gas pedal a little tap and scaring the people in the hybrid is kinda fun too!
