Damn dog...

Post by sublimer »

So I decided yesterday that I would try to leave my dog out of his cage for the first time while I went out. I went out to dinner and was gone for about 2 hours. When I got home I found this...

Image

Keep in mind, the plant was originally located at the top-center of the picture. I couldn't clean it up so on my second trip to the store I rented a Rug Doctor. Cost me almost $50 to clean up that damn dogs mess. Then, when I was holding him down to punish him, he was so scared (because I brought the wrath of God) that he peed on me :x  :x  You may also noticed that he dragged my laundry into the mess.

My blood was boiling, still pretty mad at that damn dog.

Best thing I ever bought. With kids and animals it turns into a non-issue, plus every month or so you can get a carpet looking new again

In the military I rented most of my career but always had a dog and had repeated "oh $hit" moments. once we bought one, no worries.

BTW we have had a few in 16+ years in, Hoovers are the most simple and last the longest

Here's that damn dog in my damn truck in front of my place the other week...His name is Henry, and although I'm not pleased with him right now, I love the pup and would do anything for him. He's a great dog, doesn't bark, or howl, smart, knows tons of tricks, very nice and friendly. Last night was a serious lap in judgement for him.

He's pretty damn cute, and the ladies love him

Scolding a dog after the fact is never recommended. The dog has no idea why he is being punished at that point. :2cents:

Yes, very true. It's been an internal grudge today. Haven't taken it out on the pup. He got his punishment last night, a smack on the nose and got sprayed by the water bottle.

This reminds me of the excellent book "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. The book is about a race car driver's journey through life, but it is told from the perspective of his dog "Enzo"

There is a great scene where the man comes home to find stuffed animals shredded all over the house, but the only thing Enzo the dog can remember is the stuffed animals taunting him, and then he blacked out.

It's a great book and the clever way the author tells the story through the eyes of man's best friend makes it unique and very enjoyable.

It can always be worse, my dog literally chewed the front brake hoses off of two 65 Buicks and destroyed some wiring, trying to get at squirrels that were running around on the engine. I was surprised he didn't die from the brake fluid, but that might explain his low IQ. Still love him to pieces, but I was pissed when I saw the brake hoses.

Now just what's the matter with that? He simply knocked the plant over while trying to get the laundry into the washer while watching a cartoon on the monitor!
The present "love of my life" has four legs and she too suffers from what is referred to as separation anxiety. There's several thing we can do for it as responsible dog owners.
Maybe in your case a wire mesh kennell when you leave for awhile?
He is such a cute dog though... Image

:yt: it can be tough at times but when you have them trained there is nothing better or more rewarding. I know with mine two they were a challenge but when I take them hunting or on tracking trials there is nothing better than working as a team
