What gas cap for a 72 F250

Post by Kurt Combs »

I have a 1972 F250 that probably started life in California. At that time 3/4 ton trucks were exempt from smog requirements so it has just a PCV valve and hot air to the air cleaner. It only has one metal line coming out of the gas tank which enters the tank by the sending unit for the gas gauge. I am assuming I need a vent cap for this vehicle. Anybody know. My guess is that most California F100 had a closed system, but this one does not. Am I correct?

My 69 F250 with 360 has the same setup and I've been real happy with the vented, locking cap I got at Autozone about a year ago.
