I bought me a $30 Husky socket set, a cheap 8"-10" & 12" crescent wrench set (I also have a spare spudwrench) a ballpeen, cheap set of Allen's and tossed in a few pair of channel locks, dykes and various screwdrivers from my tool box, Put them all in a old watertight ammo box. They seem to get me through most situations. My garage tools stay in the garage and my pick a part box stays in my truck. Works pretty well.
Don't forget a view doses of caution as well. last weekend I needed to flaten out the edge of a tire iron (prybars are all over a JY) used the frame horn on a f250 next to the truck I was picking as an anvil. 1 medium swing and that truck came off it's supports and fell 2ft to the ground. thank goodness I wasn't under it.
