I'm sorry to bring up politics, but it directly affects this website. The flawed piece of legislation making its way around Congress now and up for vote next week would impose laws that would backlist this website and generate fines and even possible jail-time for users/administrators of this website if they host copyrighted content (like posting a YouTube video of a kid trying to sing along to the radio) or even link to websites that host copyrighted content.

This bill will hurt jobs, weaken national security, and violate 1st amendment rights. I've never called or written to my Senators/Representatives before until this bill came about. It was a bill heavily funded/backed by mainly Hollywood (RIAA/MPAA) to help stop pirating of content (a good thing) but SOPA/PIPA is not the way to do it.

This little video explains a lot, it's all true, it's not sensationalized, it's not taking points out-of-context. PLEASE call you representatives to tell them to not vote for this bill!

Simple statement to address this. Our representatives are our choices, so it is all of our responsibility to watch our representation, communicate with them our desire as citizens, and if they don't perform, vote them out! I know this sounds so simply, but as almost half of our citizens don't seem to vote anymore, thought I'dbring it up.
