The stuff I end up with

Post by OldRedFord »

A buddy of mine called me today needing help with his boat motor. I said alright Ill be over. After a bit of fiddling around it was discovered the distributor was 180 degrees out. He made mention of the other boat he had gotten for parts and was just going to torch it. I brought up how I was looking for a trailer to build a hay hauler and that a boat trailer would be perfect.

Well now I have a boat trailer and a 1972 Larson Shark boat in the driveway. Free.

I think it needs too much money to be back on the water. Its powered by a 3.0 Mercruiser that's in pieces and needs honed if not bored. The out drive is missing. No water pump or engine coupling, seats or carpet.

Would be funny to bolt a trolling motor to it tho.

I do like how its the same year as my bump.

Strip the aluminum off and drag it to the landfill, cost me around $40 to get rid of the last one I inherited.

A buddy of mine burned an old fiberglass boat on his property out in the sticks. You wanna talk about a hell of a bon fire; it looked like a fire tornado and filled the sky with smoke.

as much as i think thats a really cool boat,i've fallen prey to "free" and "cheap" boats before and would hate to see anyone else throw a bunch of $$$ into a hole in the water......... i think it'd be best to just bring it to the boat races at the local circle track
- they do that at the local track here
pretty fun stuff: a bunch of crapped out old boats chained to the back of some " bomber" class stock cars ,the one with the biggest piece of boat remaining at the end of the race is the winner
- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...

Wish ya luck. That would be good.
I know what ya mean about all the stuff. I have a yard and shop full of stuff. Just gave a pkup load away a little while ago to a couple that sell stuff to try to make ends meet. I just can't seem to say no to people that want to give me, (good stuff). I take care of a cemetery, soooo everyone seems to think I need their old mowers. I have 6 at the cemetery that I have running, and 17 around my home front. 2 of which run
My latest drop-offs are at least good and run. Here are a couple pics of them. The little generator runs and is really neat, and so does the Troy Bilt Tuffy.
