OT my 1997 F250 Whats wrong now?

Post by OldRedFord »

My truck wont start. I turn the key and all I get is a click. The truck had done this Saturday also.

The relay on the fender is clicking when I turn the key.

I checked the battery connections which are clean and tight. Then the connections at the starter. Good there too.

I unbolted the starter but not the electrical connections and bolted it back up again and then it started?

Now today the same thing?

Starter going out?

I just smacked the starter with a hammer and got the truck started.

Is having the starter rebuilt cheaper then getting a replacement?

Sometimes and sometimes not. You will just have to call around and compare the prices.
