This is the start
Image
I started working on it today, and realized There is quite a bit of stuff that needs to be done(Brake lines to the rear is all hard lines, no rubber between frame and axle, front rubber line isn't held on by anything, turn signals don't work, reverse lights don't work, need king pins on the passenger side) and thats just what I seen today. But it got new wheel bearings in the front, and reattached the brake shoes(bearing blew apart and ruined a bunch in there)

New wheels, with some 265/75/16 tires that are good enough to get me on the road until I can afford Some 315/75/16s from Treadwright

The picture is deceiving, the body is very clean for Michigan, but does have rust. I am running into a lot of hillbilly mechanics fixes over the years.

 Got to love those hillbilly fixes. Ive been trying to find the topic on site somewhere that was full of everyones fixes theyve found on there trucks from other owners. mine had foam sprayed in all the rust holes and indoor/outdoor carpet on the seat with a galvinized strap running across the bottom. Just dont find those kind of fixes everyday

Haven't don't much to it lately, since I don't have a garage to work in. Do the oil change and it was Milky and had a few quarts of water in it, hoping it say with the hood off before I bought it and it doesn't need head gaskets. I'm also picking up front and rear bumper with brackets, 68 grill assemebly interior door panels, turn signal stalk, passenger door handle, and a Few knobs for $300. Hoping to buy a steering wheel and maybe a few other odds and ends when I get there.

Drove it to work, brakes sucked, took it in to get brakes bled and adjusted, stops good now. Put about 30 miles on it today, upper Rad has blew off, I slid it back on and tightened the clamp, added some antifreeze and it was good to go. I think I'll add a mechanical temp gauge. It runs and stops decent, steering need a work. Also need to take the body lift off.
