My 600 dollar Daily!

Post by ford4x4fun »

Well, it was to good of a deal to pass up. But here is my new daily driver. Should save me lots of money on gas not driving the F250 everyday to work! It is a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, with about 135000 miles on her. The problems are it has some rust, the windows need new motors, and I had to put a new flasher in it. Other than that it has new brakes, will need tires soon, but it drives nice. Here it is!

Runs, drives, 600 bucks, done. The really great thing about a 600 dollar rig is that when it breaks, it reminds you that there is another 600 dollar driver out there to take it's spot.

McD?

Nice looking ride. Rebuild? Looks like a few different tones of paint on the panels. Hopefully the tires won't need replacing several times due to frame issues...

Not trying to down your new wheels, just hoping it works out to be the great deal you want it to be.

Yeah, when I was young, I never knew that a frame would rust through until I went over east.

I know that pic wasn't taken in Ohio unless you're getting warmer weather than we have here. Dang I miss trees with leaves on them.

Great deal  You will make your $$$ back in no time through use and gas saved. Run it till it won't run no more then junk it. You will come out $$ ahead on this deal.

Yep! It is a salvage vehicle, but my buddy that I bought it off of, his dad is the one that built it. He only gave his kids the better ones. It drives true and doesn't pull even on the highway. And no that picture was taken in FL. But after 2 weeks of driving not a problem one after I replaced the flasher. Knock on wood!

Welcome to my world. Try doing running snow equipment where you use pure salt and spray liquid calcium. It is a cancer you are always fighting. We steam clean all the equipment after every snow event when possible, sand blast and paint the sanders and heavey truck chassis every 3-4 years and all that does is slow the progression of rust not stop it. That is the reason I got my bump out of Va. no rust, up here all the bumps for the most part have returned to the earth one flake of rust at a time

Yeah, I have traveled to the southwest more than once to get a car. One thing I know, it's not going to be rusted.
