Ever had a broken one that needed parts? Buy a different vehicle and want to buy a different adapter?

They are marketed for applications that really are beyond the capacity of Volvo parts. And they "Certainly are not just Volvo parts" though they actually certainly are indeed.

So your 4BT was bolted to a TH400 (a terrible mismatched combo) through an $800 adapter with an 8* tilt then went to a $2000 GV unit. So minus the cost/value of the TH400 itself there's $2800.

A 47RH brand new from Jasper including 100,000 mile warranty shipping to your door and a core charge is $2900. The 47RH has a lockup converter, A HUGE advantage over the TH400. The dodge adapter and flexplate is about $100.

If you were willing to live without lockup an A518 from a 91-93 dodge should be easy to find for around $300 since nobody wants them.

Dang I had about $1300 in my rebuilt gear vendor with adapter and I swapped the th400 adapter for a c6 adapter when needed. Now my new daily driver is a 93 dodge cummins with the od auto and I love it. I will say with the talking we did when I had the 4bt I wish I would have had the knowledge and willingness to go with one of the newer dodge od transmissions in my mercury.
