We're going to be using a padded seat so maybe it wont too bad. We've have two and neither had suspension but they seemed to be ok. The only thing that hurt was going off road and hitting ramp/bump and plopping down on the seat and bashing your legs on the side .

I think we decided on a paint scheme. We're going to have the frame powdercoated a nice glossy, bright, electric yellow and have most of the other parts black. Should look pretty good.

Finally got some work started on the frame. We spent about an hour and a half tweaking the frame size and added some reinforcement. We ended up tacking up a basic frame that is 88 inches long! Thats 7'4! It's gonna be pretty big for a road kart. Here are some pics..

Not trying to hijack your thread as what you are going for is cool and looks like you are making good progress (much faster than me  ) but this is what I would like to build http://digriteracing.net16.net/videos.html But the cost of the shocks alone are probably $4,000 for this buggy. Acroos the woops this thing is amazing. It has a Hayabusa motor with a claimed 200hp. He is rebuilding it now too be even more capable. Amazing buggy.

I think a buggy would be a whole lot of fun. Much more that a regular racing go-kart. The only thing that worries me about making one is the cost and complexity. I'd give anything to drive one though.

Well we've made a little progress since I've last posted. We soda blasted the engine, made motor mounts, got a muffler and welded it to the header, mounted the engine and test ran it. Here are some pics and video:
