Spot weld bit extension

Post by 67nukeford »

As some of you know, spot weld bits are a handy tool, but since most of them are only a couple of inches long, they can be tough to use in tight spaces. I bought the spot weld bit set from Eastwood. Bit works great, but I can't reach into tight corners with it, because of the drill. So, I had the machinists mill it down to exactly 1/4 inch, and bought one of these drill bit extensions from Lowes. It holds the bit snug, no wobble at all, and it works like a charm!

That's pretty cool. I've never used an extension because of the wobble. What did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

It's only like 15 bucks or so at Lowes. No wobble at all !

Sorry. I misread your post. I have a Blair bit which is already 1/4" shank. I just need the extension. Now if we could only figure out a way to shorten the drill a.d but to 2 inches. :maybe:
