Been a while...

Post by F100builder »

I've been away from this forum for a while now and just wanted to check in again. I've had quite a few changes in my life recently and I've been busy to say the least. I got married again in October and now have a new baby on the way (due in May)! I still have the bump but progress on its motor build was put on hold. Anyway, I feel the itch to get back to work on it especially now that I think the 390 currently in the truck has about had it...I almost didn't make it home the other day. So, hopefully I will be checking in a little more here soon. I hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats on your marriage and your baby on the way!
I know what it's like to be busy too! I've been somewhat scarce around here myself lately. I got engaged 4 months ago and we will have our wedding on November 17th, 2012. My fiancee loves my bump, and in fact, she doesn't want me to ever paint it because she likes the original paint. I guess that's a sign that she is a keeper!

What a coincidence...my '69 used to be Lunar Green and my wife saw the early pictures and told me I should have kept it green and weathered but still hot rodded it. She still likes it now though and I told her that it was 4 different colors when I got done before I painted it black. I saw in your sig that yours is Lunar Green...let's see a pic or do you have it in a thread? I want to do some body work and a little rust repair to make it nice one day but I still want to keep the paint satin black (good quality out of my gun) or perhaps a satin Lunar Green...could be cool.

Anyway, congrats to you too on the engagement!

Thanks and VERY cool!!! 8) I'm afraid I'd have to agree with your wife and say keep it green...if it were me. You've also got me considering the green a little harder for mine too! I want to do it in satin! Here's a shot of from the night I brought it home, 1/2 way through the transformation, and what it looks like today...perhaps it'll go from green to black to green again someday! Call me crazy but I even like the red wheels with the Lunar Green. Yours looks real tough compared to the way mine used to look...I HATED the black grille, emblems, and door handles that the previous owner did.

Yep, your truck looks great! It has made a heck of a transformation! 8)

I didn't plan on changing the colors if I did repaint mine, I was just going to respray the factory colors and add clear coat. The only thing I wanted to alter is to maybe add a touch of pearl into the white on the grille and bumpers. I think that would really make it pop! But my fiancee likes how the original 43 year old paint looks. I agree, it looks pretty good for its age!
