Finally Took the time

So I my baby when I was 16 from a plumbing supply store in my town for $550. I had taken the engine apart and out before a number of time; basically just to learn the ins and outs of the truck with my brother. With the help of all the Fordification members, the truck always ended up starting up and drive out of my garage everytime! Over winter break from college this year, my brother and I finally took the time to completely re-gasket and re-paint the engine. Here are some pics from my project! Let me know what u think! :fr:

Here I am stamping the block with the date of the rebuild with my Great Grandfathers stamps.

I really enjoyed these fantastic photos you've posted! Thank you.

I like the one with your tongue out especially--I thought I was the only one who posed like that! The lady operating the camera at the DMV wouldn't let me do it for my license though--she said, "No funny business."

You will probably find it far easier along with far less likely to damage the radiator by taking it out. It will give you more room when you do things like this along with no way to bump into it with the engine.

yeah i know...the truck was sitting on a side street by my house for the 5 days it took to complete the project. I have nosy neighbors so i wanted to keep exposure to a minimum. you cant see it in the picture, but there is a 1/2" piece of plywood on the rad.

That really looks great, I wish I had the money and time to do this now.
The blue really brings it out. Can I ask what kind of carb you have on that beast?

The Carb is an Edelbrock Performer Series 750 cfm, square-flange, manual choke (non-EGR) on top of a 2" carb spacer. Carb spacer pretty much just added sound when the engine "inhales", might rev a bit quicker with it too.
It has a matching Performer cam, lifters, intake manifold, and timing set.

Nice, I have been thinking of adding a Carb Spacer to mine, What does it do?

Honestly not too much. When you rev the engine, you can really hear it suck the air with a nice roar in the engine compartment. If you are looking to increase your horsepower, I would say save your money for something else. Overall I would say that it increased throttle response a little bit, but nothing that knocked my socks off. I think I spent like $10 or $15 bucks on it so in my eyes it was worth it.
