rocker shaft tubes
i am puttting inlifters and pushrods in a 1970 f100 with a 390 , question is do the rocker tube holes go upor down to oil ? the shafts had 1 up and 1 down when i took apart

Here's what it says in my 1970 Ford Shop Manual, and I'll type word for word, the section that is in bold print on this subject in the book. - "Be sure the shaft is positioned so that the oil holes are to the bottom. Also the identification notch on the end of the shaft must be downward and toward the front on the right bank, or toward the rear on the left bank."(page 21-06-08 Volume two-Engines) Hope that answers your question.
