There is no help for this type of obsession. Once you get that bug in your head, you can't get it out. I got the bug to built a rat rod type of hot rod with a bump era crew cab as the body. I even photoshoped a workup to be able to visualize my idea better, and that only made my obsession worse.

With fenders (30's era Ford fenders):

There are 2 things that keep me from going forward with this so far... One is I have no where to do this build right now (but the purchase of property in the next 2-3 years will cross that off the list), and the other is I just CANNOT take a crew cab that is already rare, and tear it apart to do something like that. This will become a reality though if I have the room, and come across just the cab someday. I wont destroy a truck to build this, but if the cab is already there and the rest of the truck is toast, well...

God help me if my crew ever gets badly wrecked and the cab is still usable..

So, no, if I'm trying to come up with an SUV bump, you can come up with a mini-bump!

So, now I want to build another one... I can blame you for this Joseph...

Rich will notice that is not a crew cab, but two standards, making the rear doors suicide doors very easily (0ther than mating the cabs through the door sills and modifying the 'rear' of the rear doors, etc.. etc...)

That's a great mock up with the suicide doors. When I forst got my crew and CNM67 and I began working on it, the idea of turning it into an expedition was joked about. Your version is definately original and amazing, but a ton of work. The "easier" way would be to make one out of a crew. With the removal of the back cab wall and using a bed with the front wall removed, you have a good base to work with. Connecting the bed to the cab as one piece and then coming up with a plan for the roof and windows over the bed, and of course the back doors, would be the only parts that really need to be created. The crew cab would take care of the front half of the "Bumpedition".

I think we would all forgive you, Rob. Just this once. A bump Expedition/Excursion would be very cool.
