Just get her in your truck and play this song.
That is all it will take.
She will like your truck forever.

My wife tolerates it. She at least knows what vehicles I own year and make. She does not understand why I would rather drive the bump than my 07 F350 but she is cool with it

You're two different people, with some common ground, who may tie the knot...one and one makes one, not two, in that case...and the resulting one is stronger than either of its components. Respect each other's different interests...support hers and she will hopefully return the favor and that makes the bond stronger.
Look for this when you meet her folks/family...if you don't see it there, you may encounter trouble down the line...applies to a lot of things, not just this discussion.

To continue with that thought:
Each of you have your strong qualities, but not necessarily the same strong qualities. Sharing those stronger qualities makes you a team, stronger than each part would be alone. Being able to recognize that about the other is not always easy. "Give and take.", my lady says. Sometimes either idea is equally good and letting the other "win" is the better path.

I tried to get the lady involved last night. I asked her to put her foot on the brake while I did a carb adjustment in gear. well the second I started leaning over the radiator she nailed the gas instead of the brake, took a 390 to the face then got spit out against a brick wall. Needless to say I dont think ill be wanting her to help me much anymore........ :pout:

Dang Rich. I hope you didn't hurt the brick wall!

I appreciate the input too guys. I started this thread partly tongue in cheek and partly serious. I realize forcing someone to like something is not an option, but it's a way to show her just how much these trucks mean to me, what kind of life I live, and playfully get her involved if she so chooses. Relationships are about respect though, and I think we have respect for one another.

I respect that she likes cheese flavored Ice Cream. I think it's nasty, but I respect it.

If she chooses to smile bemusedly at me being greasy under my old truck (old? It's only 2 years older than me!) then I respect that too.

She can't eat cheese ice cream in my truck though.

My wife appreciates my love for these old trucks. Even talked me into keeping mine. I don't think she will ever want one for herself though. I did buy something that she did want and I like it just as much as she does so that's our cruising around vehicle.

LMAO :yt: That was a good one.

I can't cut one in my own truck. My little lady cuts in on me, like I attacked her or something.

My wife has absolutely no interest in joining me on my hobby. But she tolerates the "other woman", and as long as I don't let the truck interfere with the home life, it works out. My wife has some health issues (fibromyalgia, if anyone knows about it), which causes her to spend a lot of time resting, so I actually get a fair amount of time in the garage. But it also means that the ride in a 45-year-old, 3/4-ton pickup beats the absolute $%#^@&! out of her. So, she tends to enjoy my enjoyment, and we leave it at that. She does enjoy buying the trinkets, though (fuzzy dice, anyone  ).
