I like that! It's good that your son knows how to weld. I plan to teach my 12 year old how. How old is your son?

He just turned 13. He learns the most in his 4H club. They have a welding group where they make projects for the local fair and to use for their other 4H projects.

That is great. Good to see the next generation coming up. Over here on Long Island NY you do not see that to often. Most teenagers are lucky if they can fill their parents car up on the their own. I feel like what I know at times and I am only 45 is a dying art around here

I don't know what county you are in but if you are in Suffolk, there is a pretty robust 4H program there as well as other youth developemeny programs. These clubs are always interested in exposing their members to people with experience.

If you call the number listed at the above link, you can find out how to become involved. I wish out 4H club had a "pumpkin fling" deal like the one in Suffolk County.

Get yourself into a leadership role with one of these clubs. It's a lot of fun and very rewarding.

Too cool and so...creative at that age! Went to a local event a few weekends ago and was amazed at the laser cut metal shapes folks are making now. Looks like your Son has a natural knack for crafting that could be put to well use someday?
