I just thought the truck was pretty neat, reminded me of visiting at my grandparents house when I was a kid, and I'd get either a nickel or a dime and run out to get an ice cream. Did not know he was previously on here, just thought others might be interested in seeing as well.

I still read on occasion, but since there was so much censorship here, I stopped posting.

Beautiful truck! I don't doubt that that much money has been spent on its restoration. I don't know if I could really see a decent return on investment at that price, though. Assuming you worked 16 events per year (one a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and made a NET $1,000 per event (and I have no basis for that number), it would still take 2-1/2 just to pay for the truck. Maybe The Good Humor Man would share more of the business details with a serious bidder.

Well, since you’re a serous bidder… lol.
When I ran the truck in the Chicago market, I was doing events at all the major corporations in the metro area. I had about 4 events a week, a minimum charge of $500. I did one every year that was over $2000. Every weekend, I did a bank grand opening, and maybe a car show after that in the afternoon. Sundays there was usually a car show also.
I recently moved to Michigan, and there is no market here, so that is why it says in the right market this truck is a money maker. East coast, you would do very well, West Olive MI, not so well.
To buy a truck in restorable shape, you will pay anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000 then you have to restore it.
To some people a cheap paint job, and if it gets cold is good enough. My truck is better than new.
The motor and trans, were professionally done. The complete front end was rebuilt. Painted by a professional, and done to last, metal cut out, and new metal welded in, after I dismantled as many parts off of it to give it the best possible paint job.
All new inverter ballasts, and florescent bulbs were installed. New light canopies. The refrigeration was completely gone over, and new thermostat installed to regulate the temperate. Freezer lights were updated to LED as not to generate heat, like the 1156 bulbs did. Every visible stainless steel screws were removed, and replaces with stainless steel screws, and cup washers. It takes days just to remove the screws, drill and tap those that break, and reinstall them without cracking the porcelain panels.
The sides are all original porcelain with the name baked into them, and in very good shape. The rest of the custom graphics were made, and installed to make it look original as they did when they trolled the street. I do the art work, and make and install them myself.
Not to mention all the small stuff like updating the wiring, getting all the lights working properly, new switches, the sound system, fabricating parts that were missing, replacing freezer gaskets, repairing the door hardware, new tires, and the hundreds of things I don’t feel like listing.
Here is a link to show part of what the restoration was about. http://goodhumortrucks.com/restoration.html
I don’t mind keeping it, but it isn’t taking off in the market I moved to, and if it sells, I then have room to buy another to restore.
Bid fast now, it is almost done on eBay.

I live in San Antonio. It's hot enough down here for that truck to be a money maker. Too bad I don't have $42,000! Good luck on the auction.

hey Good Humor Man, Long time no see (read). I still see your buddy in Peekskill, NY every year. I can't think of his name right now though. Good luck with it.
