Good mileage trip
We took the blue 70 and went from Mountain Home to my wife's dads house in Twin Falls. Its roughly about 90 miles one way. We only used 1/2 a tank running at 75mph. After figuring it out, I think I averaged about 12 mpg. Not too bad for a 390 with a c6. I love the sound of dual turbo mufflers and headers on the freeway.

Why is it that the trucks are always the best running vehicles in the family?

If you really want to help you mileage on the cheap. Get a vacuum guage just through that I have picked up 1 1/2-2 miles a gallon

Re: Good mileage trip
Troy, what rear end ratio do you have in your truck?
With a 360, T18, and a 3.50 open 9" rear, my truck got, on one really nice Sunday evening in September, 19mpg! But I was cruising at a steady 55mph. I've never had my truck over 65 as long as I've owned it!

Re: Good mileage trip
I'm not sure what ratio it is. My dad changed it years ago. I know when the speedo is at 90 I am doing 75 if that helps. It cruises great at 75 even 80.

Re: Good mileage trip
I have a 390 c6 in my f100 and went on a 120 mile round trip. Going I had an oxygen bottle propane bottle and cutting torch stuff. I was grossing around 4700lbs with a passenger. I picked up a 460 c6 combo and hauled it back. I figured the mileage and it was around 12. I thought that was pretty good for an overloaded pickup
