front frame width between engine crossmember?
Here is what Im thinking on the width between the frame rails on the engine crossmember 34.02 outside width of rails 3/16 frame thickness = .1875? so 34.02 - .1875-.1875= 33.645 between the frame rails (inside width)?? Going to get get a new crossmember made so have to draw up one so want perfect measurements for them to bend it to.

Whoa, hoss! My frame's sitting in the garage ready to roll so thought I'd go measure it for you. You didn't specify but mine's an F-100. The frame dips in on both sides at the shock towers. It's exactly 33" wide inside the rails (at the frame web) right there. Measuring the outside of the rails, between the shock towers, it's 33-3/8". Subtracting 3/16" metal thickness verifies the I.D. Just in case I'm not getting the right crossmember, the next one back is only 32-1/2" because it doesn't reach all the way to the web due to it being riveted in place. If you need anything else, let me know. Everything on mine's easy to get to right now.

Cool, thanx for the info got a place that is going to madrel bend me some 2x4 3/16 wall tubing for a new crossmember to weld in. Thinking that way I can move it to miss my steering box with no notching etc...(4 bolt steering box out of 79)

Re: front frame width between engine crossmember?
The 4x4 crossmember must be wider than the 2wd measuring bigger than 33" on the 68 4x4 F250 crossmember. Seems to be the 34 minus the metal thickness so about 33.625. Thinking maybe the 4x4 is straight where the crossmember is and the 2wd has the dip in?

Could be. Never hurt to make it a little longer and trim it if need be anyway. Good luck and let us see how it came out.
