almost head on collision..

Post by R.Smith »

So, Saturday morning I'm coming home from the flea market with 4 vintage clamshell bouncy type lawn chairs when I see a car coming towards me...in my lane...at aout 30mph. Since I'm on the street in front of my house I assume it's one of my buddies trying to be funny but, it keeps coming and coming and speeding up until it dawns on me that it's the real thing. Having just turned left from a stop, I don't really have any momentum and before I can hit the gas and try ti swerve up onto the curb, the guy finally looks up, sees me, swerves at the last minute and hits the driver side bumper...then goes across the street into a neighbors yard. The entire side of his car is crushed and crinkled and, after catching my breath, I get out, slam the door while spewing every profanity in the book because I know my front end is also smashed and...nothing! Just some white paint on the bumper! I still can't believe it.

I've finally got a name for my white F250. The "Berg". Just like the one that took out the Titantic :D

Of course, if he hadn't swerved at the last minute I'd likely be dead. He said a bee was in the car with him.

Hum....bee in car, I'd hit the brakes! Maybe he was texting, or sexting!

I can't say for sure but, considering that he slowly drifted into my lane and wasn't erratically swerving (like you would if a bee was in the car) ...I'd say he was dialing or texting.

If you want to get him to pay for your bumper, have your lawyer subpoena his cell phone records. :D

But if they can prove he was on the phone, he gets another ticket! :D
