Funny, the movie was shot right here in Santa Clarita and they built the buildings for Reds Auto Parts and the Double Duece in the field at the corner of 13th Street and Arch Street in Santa Clarita (Google maps anyone?). Its still a big field and I was there the night they blew the place up. Wasnt much to do back in 1988 out here, so watching them blow up movie sets was always a good time. I am sure that truck was there when they blew it up and I am sure I saw that truck drive in several scenes. I dont remember it though as I was not into bumpsides back then. But pretty cool none-the-less...

Hell, they built the gas station in the movie Christine at the corner of Valencia Blvd and McBean Pkwy in Santa Clarita back in the 70s when that was an empty field (now a Corner Bakery and Starbucks). I was there when they blew that one up too. Even as a kid, it sucked to watch them blow up those awesome cars....

Lets not even talk about every episode of Dukes of Hazzard that was filmed out here. Talk about a crying shame with vehicle abuse. Heck, there isnt much over the years that they have not filmed out here.

Hey Rich, didn't they film one of the lethal weapon movies inthe back lot of Six Flags Magic Mountain? Where I work (also in santa clarita)

Yeah, the stilt house in Lethal Weapon 2 that the South African Counselette used, and that Mel Gibson pulled down with his truck was built on a hill above the employee parking lot at Magic Mountain. I didnt get to see that one though. I had friends that did, but they only let the employees back there that night to watch the house get pulled down the hill.
