Hello,
I am in the market for a bumpside and I found one that I like but want some input from this board. It would be my daily driver, which is in town about 18 miles round trip, so I would want it to be reliable. I am in Boise, Idaho. Thanks in advance for any of your input!
It is indeed a sharp truck-but what about mechanically when you say it will be your daily driver?
It appears it is the original 360, (if it's been taken care of you could put another 68K on it). I see a "random wire" ran across the engine compartment-for what? And it might be in your best interest to take it to a mechanic and have a compression gauge put on it. It does have PS and PB going for it!

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

The mystery wire is likely going to the aftermarket stereo. That would be my guess. The steering wheel and guage cluster arent 68 either. Not that it's unusual to find a 71 steering wheel in a 68 after 40+ years but, you might point this out when "negotiating".
That cluster and column are likely the legacy of a '71-'72 Ranger parts truck bought for the a/t, p/s and p/b the guy swapped in as he mentions in the ad. If the work was done right, that's a very reliable drivetrain; if not exactly miserly on fuel. Very nice truck to start with.
Interesting that it looks like it could be an original dash pad delete truck.
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for all your guys input, I actually found a different truck and went and got it today. They were asking quite a bit less so I went with this one instead

Usually by a lack of dash pad and those little defroster vents. They didn't use them if there was a dash pad in place. There is a line noting the deleted pad on the build sheet that went down the line with these trucks; sometimes they're still found under the seat on our trucks.
