Re: Things that go bump in your town
Saw some bumps and other old trucks today at a Cotton Gin Festival in Bostiwick, Ga. Thought I'd share with y'all.

70 F-100 Sport Custom SWB

Not a bump, but it was pretty nice. 1957 F-600.

Link to more pictures from today if you're interested. Other trucks/cars in album include some old IH pickups, Chevy Apaches, F-1, Dodge Powermaster, and a 1960 Mack.

Have seen a good number of bumps driving around the roads lately. I try to make a picture of one or two sometimes.

Re: Things that go bump in your town
I know this is not a bump but it is a 1966 and was in the best shape I have ever seen. I had a long talk with the owner who looked to be about 80 years old, he bought it brand new and told me it had always been his around town driver and never really done any hard work. He had it repainted inside and out and new upholstery a few years ago. There was not a single flaw in this thing, he said no way it was for sale. This was one sweet ride.

I am of an age now that most of life's lessons were learned the hard way;
Life is hard, but it’s harder when you’re stupid.
Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction.
Never ask how stupid someone is 'cause they'll turn around and show you.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
If you had the choice “Looks or Brains” take the Brains, Looks will get you thru the first half, but Brains will last a lifetime.

My grandpa had one like that when I was little. Same color and all.TexasTruck72 wrote:Saw this old rusty '72 today LWB. Not bad looking to me. It caught my attention because its the same color as my bump, winter green. The only difference is that this bump has the fancy trim, tailgate, different hubcaps, a whole lot of surface rust, and push bar things on the front bump. I think the rust patina is kinda neat. Wonder why its up on blocks under the driver side?

Has been a while hasn't it. I lost all my subscriptions when the site was having problems so I miss a lot now.

Re: Things that go bump in your town
Really think that maybe this one should be called..."things that barely go bump in your town"!
This one sets in a very historic part of town, (cannon in the background-the church steeple dates early 1800's).
Also had another flat on the DS I believe. Spotted the grill and dove in for a closer look.

Nice work keeping this thread alive, Jeff. There is an F350 crew cab car hauler in the next town up the river from me. I have to get up there and take some pics soon.

Re: Things that go bump in your town
Spotted this '69 (while driving my '71) down in Wilmington:
Not a fan of those wheels - but then I don't really like modern wheels on vintage vehicles.

I'm also not a fan of the GM tails!

Or the idiot faux-scoop.

The accent lights under the bumper were also pretty lame...

Really though it was a clean shortbox that had potential to be turned into something nicer, engine sounded good.

Re: Things that go bump in your town
Not my town. Nearly caused a wreck on I66 west of Arlington, VA trying to get my wife to pop a picture of it. Sorry but was unable to see the front for a year model due to my Mario Andretti driving skills and the traffic. But was cool anyway. I've actually spotted three while here and in DC on vacation. Had to share.

Re: Things that go bump in your town
I saw this one one in Ft Edward, NY while making a stop on vacation. '67 F250. Looked pretty good. It had been repainted recently. Saw the driver get in and take off, but didn't speak to him. Was a 4 speed and sounded like a V8.
