New "old" camper purchase

Post by SecondCamperSpecial »

Just got home with my new to me camper for my 68 Camper Special. Truck was in the shop so I picked it up with my 93 Crew cab. I am the third owner as I am with the truck. Excited to get it on my truck. Got a couple of trips planned for it this fall. Just thought I would show it off.

Nice camper, how far from northern Cali do you live? If you were closer I might just come by and barrow that camper! :D

Looks like a cruiser. I kind of wish I had a large one like that..
I have campers on both of mine, but they are more shells, than a drive under
camper like that. The regular rear door can be handy as they can be rigged to
hold a small window unit, if that one doesn't have A/C on the roof.. hard to tell..
And you will like the louver windows. My 74 camper has those.. You can have them
open when it's raining and very little water will get in.
Where as the sliding sideways side windows on my 68's shell will leave you soaked if
the rain is strong.

This is my 4th Slide in camper. First one was Trek 12 footer. I miss that camper. Second one was also quite large about the same I think. It was an Americo. I like the layout but it was just a piece of crap. This one I just bought has a later model electric//gas refrigerator in it. Testing it now. I own two now. I have a Viking pop up one which is in good shape but It is too hard for me to crawl in to crank it up all the time. I will be selling that one. I am building a Falcon "Gasser" and this will be my tow rig. I am looking for a roof a/c unit. I love A/C. Truck has under dash a/c and it works. I have just up graded the truck to power disc brakes and tilt wheel. I bought a NOS FORD accessory speed control which I hope to Install by spring. Did Ford ever install rear sway bars on the Bumps? On my last on I took one off a dent side and it worked perfect. I drove it on a short trip after loading and I think a sway bar will be needed.

Sweet! I'm looking for something like that (or smaller, if possible) for my '67. Dang, I'm jealous! Any pics of the inside?
