I'm in the body work phase and you talk about de-motivating. Hours and hours of sanding. However, I've got a chip of my paint color from the manufacturer that I keep in my wallet. Also have a pic of a freshly painted hood of the same paint on my phone. When I start getting "less than thrilled" about sanding again and again, I pull them out, look at them and imagine what my truck's going to look like once it's painted. It also helps to feel the difference between the rough primered surfaces and then feel the smoothness after I've sanded with 400 grit for a few minutes. Brings a smile to my face.

Re: What gets you Motivated?
Been there, done that! It was on my '72 Gran Torino; I did all the body work, wet sanded the entire car, two coats of primer, wet sanded the entire car, two more coats of primer, wet sanded the entire car, then took it to a small local bodyshop for them to spray it in their paint booth. It turned out really pretty, so it was worth the weeks of labor, but I'm not in a hurry to do that again anytime soon! As much as I'd love my bump to gleam like that, when people tell me it looks good as-is, I have to agree!sargentrs wrote:I'm in the body work phase and you talk about de-motivating. Keep with it though! You'll have it looking great!
