What's it worth?

Post by cghstrojan08 »

Most of you probably don't remember me but used to be on here when I had my '69. Had to sell it during high school to help pay for college. I have always been looking for a truck to replace my Ol' Blue since I have graduated from college and making money.

Been really thinking about this thing. I always look at it when I get on craigslist. Crate motor with 23,000 miles on it.

Bargersville! You are just down the street from me. Looks like a nice truck but not so sure I would go $6500. Whats under the seat cover?

The truck looks really nice and the fact that it is a short bed makes it even more desirable and hard to come by. But $6500 is a bit much unless you are sure there are only 23000 miles on that motor and it is running perfectly. Even then, I would probably make a $5500 or $6000 offer once I knew that truck was mechanically sound... Only reason my offer would be that high is because the body looks to be in good shape, its a short bed, and the low miles on the motor.

Very nice truck.Yeah, what Calfdemon said. If it's mechanically sound seems like a good price. And it's a turn key nice looking truck too from the looks of things.

He said its mechanically sound and that the crate motor is from the local ford dealership. I asked for more pictures but plan to go look at it here hopefully soon. I'm working in Memphis for the next year.

Robert I do remember you and your 'ol Blue. That shorty does look nice. If it is what the seller says it is then it's likely worth what they want. Of course it never hurts to dicker a bit. :)

If he has a crate engine under the hood, he'll have receipts. If he "can't find them", then he can go down to the local Ford dealer and get copies. Make sure you see them before you put down the green. Just my two cents.

That looks like a very nice truck, I've stared at it on CL at least a dozen times as well! It's been listed on there for quite awhile at that same price. (maybe a couple months?). I'd love to see someone on here get it. And you sir, have to get back in the game! It very well could be worth the asking price or close to it, you just have to go over everything, inside and out. Look at all the tell tail signs and areas of concern on these trucks. Which BTW - our "areas of concern" here in the Midwest are different than other regions, obviously.

Oh - and don't forget to get as much history as possible, that's worth dollars right there, IMO.

Good luck!!
