new fords are tough

a few minutes ago I was convinced that the 04 and up f150s are the toughest trucks on the 1/2 ton market. one came across the scales today bottomed out loaded with brake rotors and irony aluminum and grossed 11800lbs so there was roughly 3 tons in a 1/2 ton pickup and drove like that from tuscaloosa to sumiton, which is 60 miles or so. I have never seen something so awesome and scary at the same time

I would have called the DOT cops. Criminal negligence on the highway as school is letting out...

My Dad used to load his old Fords down with soybeans, corn etc. till the springs bowed the other way. Never broke an axle or anything else that I knew about. Good trucks, no doubt about it.

That being said, i would love to see his axle bearings and axle tube....

Really i have to give that title to a 1995 ford RANGER with a 2.3 5speed. i used to work at a scarp yard and there was this crazy old man put a goose neck ball in his 24 ft trailer full of scarp about 2 tons on a trailer. It was kind of funny the scarp yard was located on a steep hill you would see that truck flying down the hill then 10 min later it slowly come up the hill
