1969 F250 Ranger 4x4 Project

Post by Boss429BumpSide »

In process of purchasing this truck. A 1969 F250 Ranger 4x4
A good friend purchased the truck planning on a full blown resto. Absolute cherry 100% rust free truck no dings dents except for a small dent in roof, more like a mark from hand or maybe someone tried to use it as a ladder to get up in the attic.

Not a big fan of the color combo but he decided to keep it as it was. I helped him do the paint work on the nearly perfect body. For sure a few hundred hours to tear down and paint. PPG concept was used for the refinishing.

He recently decided that he would not finish it in the next 5yrs because of family, work and other commitments.

Problem is I moved 1400 miles away so now need to figure out how to get it to me without breaking the bank.

A few pics prior to paint. He should have just buffed it . . .

Chassis is pretty much gone thru and done, paint is nearly complete with only tailgate and front valance left.

Inside of box was pretty much perfect too. A HUGE reason why I like the truck and can put up with color because it was so perfect to start with. This truck needed a proper job.

Remember, These pics are the BEFORE pics. Simply amazing it survived that long. A true little old lady truck from new. The camera date is way off. These were taken in 2010. The new paint was from 2011 to current.

a few as is pics.

Excuse the poor pics, did not have the better camera with me. The box is now back on chassis as is the cab. Needs assembly.

The chassis is pretty much done. Current is a mild 390 with a manual trans.

I am much more familiar with other year Fords as far as parts go. Where is the best source for interior and trim? Needs carpet, headliner, door panel trim. I would also like to find a set of stock wheels. Is carpenter best for rubber seal kit?

That was the initial plan yes. Just a mild 700hp version nothing wild. Kaase Heads on a 466 short block.
Now it really depends on how $$ is at the time as I am in process of 2 other truck projects right now. One is well on its way and the other is a major major undertaking because of a "special" engine swap. (EcoBoost)

The truck looks like it is coming along well. It looks good! There are some good company's out there that you can find what you need. I have had good success with LMC Trucks, Dennis Carpenter and NPD. Most of all the parts that i have ordered are actually good reproductions. I hope that helps some and I'm looking forward to seeing progress on your truck.
