With A Little Help From My Old Flareside

Post by 68 Ford Stepside »

Fighting the big "C" is rough. I got up this morning feeling terrible. Big time pain in the gut & all over. Walked outside & looked at the old Flareside & spoke to it. I said, old girl we're going for a ride this morning. And we did go for a four hour ride out in the country. She ran slick as glass & I began to feel somewhat better. With a little help from my old Flareside I think I can make it through another day! Thank the Lord for old trucks, children & watermelon wine.Have A Great Ford Day!

Prayers for your full recovery from this. Whenever I'm asked about the proverbial "three wishes" question, this is the first thing I always tell folks that I'd ask for, (always). For there to be no more such thing as cancer-for all mankind!
Our trucks have so...many ways that they provide what I'd call "therapy" for us. I had two lower back surgeries a few years back and could barely walk / hooked on pain meds / almost gave up on being able to ever function normally again. I started building my truck to prepare for moving home 900 miles, (after living in Florida for 26 years). Turns out that building my truck was the best thing I could had ever done! I could not afford physical therapy of any sorts-and building the truck was the physical therapy I needed to work myself back into shape-one grueling day at a time. I too have that ear-to-ear grin ever time I get into my truck that bewilders most folks who are probably thinking "why is that guy in that piece of crap truck smiling that big"?
Enjoy the ride, and make them wonder!
Blessed...
Jeff

Thanks for your prayers, all contibutions appreciated. I noticed you are from Tennessee. I served in Danang with a guy from Trenton, Tennessee during 1965-1966. Just talked to him a few weeks ago. He has the dreaded big "C" also. We probably got it from some of the chemicals over there. Have A Great Ford Day!
