I have bought several tanks of "alcohol free gas" for 10 cents more per gallon, but didn't see any improvement. Mark this statement down in your little black book if you have one. If I live long enough, I will fix this problem. I don't give up without a hang of a fight.

I have read that the gas has been reformulated for use in EFI vehicles which does not work like it did in vehicles with carbs,I think when the fuel is under pressure there is something that is not needed that a vehicle with a carb needs for the fuel to be more stabile. I read this years ago and cant quite remember all what was written.

In other words,what you are saying is if I swap over to fuel injection my problem will go away. That may be the truth, but it is an expensive truth. Have A Great Ford Day!

I have a little hot start issues with every vehicle of mine that has a carb but its not that bad and can deal with it,our fuel works better with EFI but I wont be converting any at this time. I am having fuel pump issues with my 1988 bronco but its the aftermarket parts that are not holding up,I would like to convert my 65 galaxie to EFI but I like being able to keep the carbed 302 going since the fuel pump for it is much cheaper and dont have the expense of replacing sensors.

Yeah our crappy gas isn't helping matters thats for sure.
