Vote! Seriously...please vote here for Fordification!

Post by basketcase0302 »

Political discussion isn't really allowed here on Fordification, it gets deleted for a very good reason. By no means am I asking who your voting for-simply are you gonna vote today? I'll go by the polls this morning before work.
On election day here in the states are you gonna vote?

And as I continue to see folks posting links to "the dark side" I thought it might be a good time for a poll to see just how many guys here-go there?! Fordification has so...much more information at your fingertips than those other guys have-just ask anyone who's been here for awhile! There is no right or wrong here-simply wanted to know how many folks here do double duty?
Seriously...ask, and someone will point you to a link here with an answer!
This is kind of like required reading here for all that are new to the site-so you know where you are!

Yep gonna vote later today when I head home from work.

As for the vote on here at hand... I don't like having too many sites I go to at a time so I do an elimination process... Are the people friendly, are the people knowledgeable, are the people relatively fast at answering questions that are asked, and do the moderators only have their phasers set to kill on post not vehicle related or something that's just spam......... This site has far surpassed all of those and "The dark side" I didn't have that as much.

So in the words of many :fr:

My ballot got lost in the mail, and the auditor's office has been a b*tch about replacing it so who knows what is gonna happen :(

As for the "other site" the only time I go there is when a google search takes me there for something regarding part numbers or weird ass VIN stuff. One of their posters there seems to have a crap ton of information handy on arcane numbers. But I'm not registered there, don't post there. Found Fordification first, it was dang friendly, then when I read the censorship page, I was like "Eh. Screw that."

I also do not go to the other site unless I am doing a Google search for a specific item or topic and it points me there (usually a NumbersDummy post since is knows his stuff over there), but aside from that rare occasion, Fordification is where I call home.

On a side note, from what I hear the censorship issue is a thing of the past as I believe that other site was sold a while back and is now run by new people that do not operate in the same fashion. But regardless, this site has EVERYTHING I need and the people here are WAY nicer and more helpful. Not to mention, the lack of adds on this site. If there was no other reason, I still would only come here due to the blinding amount of advertisement on the other site.

Already voted for Barr/Sheehan. Just kidding!

Yes I voted.

As for the "other" Ford site; which one is that?

I go to other Ford sites for specific info in order to compare it to the advice I get here first.

This site is all about sharing information on '67-'72 Ford trucks. If I'm trying to find a picture and it's from FTE, I'll post it here.

I don't personally go to that site anymore because I feel they put their commercial gain before the old truck community.

I just went over there (first time in about 3-1/2 years) and I seem to have been 'un-banned.' The last time I tried, I was informed I was on a permanent ban. Nice to see someone else doing things in a more friendly fashion!
I just got done voting. At work, I have a friend who is an immigrant, I don't know where he's from (I've never asked). I asked him if he had gotten his citizenship yet, and he said that he had. I asked him if he was going to vote today, and he said he was. He seemed very proud of the privilege, as he should be. I told him that "Over the last 226 years, a lot of Americans have died so you could have the right to vote."
That is true for us all. One of the greatest things we can do to honor their memory is to vote.
Go do it!!

Yes, I voted on the way home from work. I will confess that 3 or 4 years ago I ventured over to the dark side. I didn't hang around there more than a month or so before I ran screaming back to Fordification. I've never met a more conceited, rude, bunch of people in my web life. For starters, any post I made was unresponded to, if at all, for several days and then only 1 or 2 people would comment. Mostly with no help. I tell people about Fordification all the time. I tell them that sometimes I wonder if a lot of people here, myself included, just sit here and wait for somebody to post so we can jump in  You guys and gals are the most courteous and helpful people I've ever met and I appreciate you all! And a special thanks to Keith for starting this site and giving us a place to call home.

Just wondering why keep :bdh: If you don't like a web site don't use it. Why keep bringing it up on another site. Yes I know the history between Keith and the other site, but it was 10 years ago next month, and a different site owner. Just my :2cents:

Because it's my :2cents: my friend! Especially when folks here link to the dark side! If half the folks here cared-half as much you'd realize what has been built here, (ad free) and how much it should be respected-not abused like the other clowns do over there!
Ans here I thought a simple show of hands was not too much to ask.

Not to much to ask at all, and was not trying to ruffle any feathers, but since you ask and bring it up. What is the difference between you or them when you try to discourage people from using other web sites just as they did not want people to use this site. And yes I agree with you 100% about what has been built here and the people that use and run this site are the best.As for posting links one of the mods even said he post links if their is a picture that can be used. That's all I have to say before it starts a pissing match

One thing, being ad free means you can more safely say "Vendor X is crap" without having an admin go "Oh ****. Vendor X just paid our server bill this month, they gonna be pissy" or at least that is a theory, and sometimes enforced on websites. At least here you don't have to worry about pissing off a vendor who pays big bucks to be plastered over the site and get in trouble for it.

FTE has NumbersDummy going for it which is useful at times, and stuff *other* that Bumps and Dents. If I'm over there it's either a NumbersDummy post, or pre 67 Ford stuff. But I feel by far Fordification is by far the best for the 67-72's.
