Do You Know Your Automotive History ?

Post by 68 Ford Stepside »

Three of the gentlemen in the attached photo had strong ties to the development of modern vehicles. Do you recognize any of them or can you name any of them ? :)

In order from left to right:

Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, U.S. President Warren G. Harding, Harvey Firestone.

We know that Ford built cars & Firestone built tires & Edison built the first dc battery, but what did Harding do. I'd say in his position as president of the U.S. he may have loaned tax payer money to the other three.

This photo always has amazed me simply because all of these CEO's are meeting out in the woods on lawn chairs. No board rooms for them. Have A Great Ford Day!

are you guys watching the series on the History Channel called The Men that built America about Vanderbuilt, Carnegie, Rockefeller, Morgan, etc. A young Henry Ford was on the latest series I saw. Edison was on a couple of series.... Interesting series....

Didn't Harvey Firestone marry Ford's daughter? I know there were related somehow. SEveral years ago when the Ford SUV' s were rolling over they blamed it on the Firestone tires.... caused some controversy between the 2 long time friendly companies...
