They sure do have some pretty ladies in N.C. especially up in the mountains. You do have to be careful around Clifton Clowers property. He is very protective of his daughter.

I don't mind putting gas on the fire here, I wave at folks just to freak them out. And you can blame all them wonder folks who moved down here before ya'll for messing it up. Folks get tired of hearing "this isn't how we did it back in X place". Well if it was so good back at X why the heck did you move. Besides, you might be a revenuer and we can't chance you finding the shine still.
Honestly I have no idea why folks don't wave like they use to other than the fact one hand is on the wheel and the other one is holding or texting on the phone. I guess its just one of those things that isn't being taught that its just polite to wave at folks cause you got waved at.....

I ride and restore old vintage Honda motorcycles and I even get snubbed by a lot of other motorcycle riders. Now that can hit your nerves even more. Bike riders are famous for always dropping a hand. It seems things have got " clickish". If it's not a Harley or a sports bike, its not worthy of a wave? Seems the same for cars and trucks. New generation of people/ kids running around now days.

I drive four vehicles. While driving the Jeep 99% of Jeep owners wave. While driving the motorhome about 50% of other camping vehicles wave. While driving the Ford 500, only friends wave. While driving the old flareside everybody waves no matter what they are driving. Regardless of what out of state people think, southern people are still the most friendly people on earth. I have a friend from up north who says he use to think southern people were overly friendly until he realized they were waving gnats away from their faces.

The first motorcycle I ever owned was a BSA Victor 441, but my favorite of the many I owned was a Honda 305 Super Hawk. That little scooter would flat outrun any Triumph 650 or BSA 650 & a Harley Sportster didn't have a chance.

The one I ride is a 73 CL 450 and every biker type waves at me here in Iowa..... Then again I don't meet that many crotch rockets on the road either and my bike has a windshield on it so it looks more like a small cruiser so that may make a difference

I think thats the biggest aversion I have to people moving in. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. For some reason a lot of the transplants forget that.

Welcome to the second invasion of the Yankiees, finding a Native tarheel is like finding a gold nugget in a creek. I have confused a lot of them by just randomly waving at folks, the ones that don't have the phone stuck to their head usually wave back.

I was trying to be a little Politically correct I guess but agree 100% If a person in a bump, classic car of any make or a bike waves at me I'd bet all my meager savings they grew up around here. Huntersville has so many rich Lake people living and or driving around here and they are all stuck up. My own sister in law wouldn't wave at me I bet. She owns a bunch of land on Lake Norman and married a race car crew chief after shopping the Busch Series a couple of years. Lake people are very stuck up.
I have noticed the Classic Mustang people around here are the very same way. There are two Mavericks around and they always wave. I guess Mustang people are usually richer and above me in class.

I've been a Mustanger the majority of my life. I got bitten by the Mustang bug at age 13. I bought my first Mustang when I was 15 (1982) --30 years later, I still own that '68 Mustang. The first vehicle I learned to drive, though, was my dad's red and white '68 SWB F-100 Ranger (which had been upgraded with '70 model interior and exterior trim).

I'm certainly not wealthy, just a skilled worker. Not all of us vintage Mustang owners are too good to wave at someone else --and even if it's to wave at a brand X owner driving a cool piece of old iron.

I too am a Mustanger, going on four years now owning my '06 GT, my first and only Mustang to date. I've been a fan of Mustangs my whole life as well. I will say that I have had run-ins with a few Mustang owners that were downright rude. I also joined one of the big Mustang forums online not long after buying mine, but seeing members get flamed on a regular basis, and the generally rude posting, turned me off from going there unless there's info I just can't find elsewhere. It's definitely not the laid-back atmosphere that we enjoy here on FORDification! Sometimes there's no middle ground; they're either really cool, or really stuck-up. The worst attitudes seem to be the early '90's model to present day model owners that are the "boy racer" types. Though I too own a late model, I like to think that I fall into the nice crowd.

Back on topic, I wave at anything cool, no matter what the make. And I wave back at anyone who waves at me. That's just good manners.

I have passed several nice Mustangs this weekend and none would wave at me in greetings. Are they just stuck up or do they not acknowledge our trucks as a Ford?

Some people are very single-minded and only appreciate ONE type of vehicle. I have noticed that SOME Mustang people fall into this trap. I think most folks on Fordification have a more broad appreciation for classics.

Being 46, I suppose it's relative to someone else whether I'm 'young' or 'old.'

I'm from the same state as Clifton Taylor Clowers so I know who he was. He lived on Wolverton Mountain in Conway County Arkansas. Born 1891, died 1994. He was reported as "being very handy with a gun or knife" and suitors for his daughters better beware.

A popular country song was written about him some time around 1962.
