Farther Behind Than When I Started The Day...

Post by ford4x4fun »

Well I started today with plans of installing a shift rod into my NP205 and than after that putting the cab on my truck. I should have listened to the wisdom of my Dad, and not read the instructions and said to myself... "Hmm Seams Easy Enough!"

Well now I am down 200 dollars and managed to find a nice NP205 on Craigslist after butchering mine. I will post pics later, but lord now I know why I call myself a shade tree mechanic and not a true mechanic. On a side note though the instructions that came with my dual shift kit where not accurate. Imagine That!

So I post as my kids try to find my camping lantern so I can start tomorrow off where I started today! Wish me luck! Though I have decided my fabrication days are done till I have someone smarter than me around!

It's still "moving forward" Billy just at a slower pace. I'm sure most of us here have broke a part or two on our trucks trying to repair them before-sure know I have. Glad you got it ready to go in again.
And oh BTW...I'm sending some of this wonderful weather we're having here down your way!

Jeff!

Yes it is moving forward! I actually went over to your old stomping grounds, and found the replacement transfer case! Nice guy, and he is starting up a family business as a 4x4 supplier. If anyone needs parts this guy sells them at a really fair price! I don't think I could have found an NP205 in really good working order for under 200 dollars!

Good for you man! And I will once again say thank you for your service to our country. Nice to see your "land-locked" around home for awhile! There's plenty of bump and dent parts in Central Florida still I found.
